What’s waiting behind the 24 windows
A little bit of Czech every day, full of Christmas atmosphere.
Grammar that sticks
Short, clear explanations with plenty of practice: the accusative, dative and genitive, the imperative, past and future tense, modal verbs, prepositions – and the famous Czech ř.
Czech traditions
St Nicholas with an angel and a devil, St Barbara’s cherry twigs, St Lucy, Baby Jesus who brings the presents, the carp in the bathtub, cutting an apple, walnut-shell boats and more.
Culture and stories
The Christmas fairy tales every Czech knows, carols, Erben’s ballad Štědrý den, old legends and a real recipe for honey gingerbread.
Listening and reading
Recordings read by Linda with transcripts you can show, short stories, letters and real-life dialogues – at the market stall, at home and at the Christmas table.
Games and practice
Braid a vánočka, decorate an Advent wreath and a Christmas tree, play pexeso, put dialogues in order and drag words into place. Most exercises check your answers instantly.
Learn by playing
Grab a strand of dough and braid your own vánočka, light the candles on the Advent wreath, decorate a Christmas tree. The games come with the Czech words you need – and a “Jak na to?” button that shows you how.
Little surprises
Every window is different. A frozen window thaws to show who’s looking in, presents unwrap themselves, and on 24 December a big golden gift is waiting for you.
Practice with instant feedback
Yes/no questions, choosing the right word, filling in, putting sentences in order, writing your own text. Click Zkontrolovat and see straight away what’s right. Your notes are saved, so you can come back to them anytime until 31 January 2027 – and download them as a PDF.
