About me
Linda Jelínková – your online trainer of Czech language for foreigners, passionate traveler, and boundless lover of life.
I started teaching almost by chance. In 2022, while I was studying Russian for Translators, the war in Ukraine began, and many of us translation students were asked to help Ukrainian newcomers settle into life in Czechia. That’s when I discovered my true passion: helping others, meeting people from all over the world, building meaningful connections and sharing knowledge through teaching.
But who is Linda in real life?
A passionate lover of life, freedom and new languages. I’m an Aquarius with Sagittarius rising — trust me, that says a lot. I don’t fit into neat little boxes, and I like taking the road less travelled, even when it’s the harder one. My independent, open-minded spirit helps me find new paths to success, and my empathy and kindness make me a supportive partner on my students’ learning journeys. (no cap, see references)
About my work
My sessions are relaxed and informal — I want our time together to be completely stress-free. I put a lot of effort into getting you to speak as much as possible, and we practise pronunciation a lot, because that’s what makes the biggest difference when you speak. I also have a great memory, so don’t be surprised if I suddenly ask about your trip to the US back in the 2010s, how your grandma Olivia is doing, or whether your dog is feeling better today.
My sessions draw on Czech-for-foreigners textbooks, but I prefer to teach in my own way, mainly with clear, well-structured presentations. So you don’t just get a 1:1 online session — you also get a shared folder with all our materials.
I’ve been a student too, so I know what really works — and it’s definitely not scrolling through scans of old textbooks. That’s why I create extra interactive materials — voice messages, videos, written tasks and quizzes — and get you actively involved in every session.

That’s what I’ve learned from my teaching practice. Students don’t need to know every declension perfectly — they need to interact and use the language in everyday life. That’s why I use a communicative teaching style.
