My work in questions

My work in questions 〰️

  • I specialise in teaching adults and feel most comfortable working with students aged 16 to 60.

My students include both Slavic and non-Slavic speakers, covering all levels from complete beginners (A0) up to upper-intermediate (B2).

Some of my students live in the Czech Republic, but thanks to my international network, many of them are based outside of Europe as well.

  • I teach Czech language as a foreign language from A0 till B2 language levels. I put huge effort into focusing on correct pronunciation, reducing accent.

Some students come with a clear goal — for example, preparing for the A2 language exam to obtain permanent residence in the Czech Republic — while others simply enjoy learning the language, spending time actively speaking, or diving deeper into grammar.

  • In my experience, most students simply need to speak. That’s why I prefer a communicative style of teaching. We often describe pictures, talk about your weekend, or discuss your future plans. The correction of mistakes and clarifying doubts comes afterwards.

I’m a patient trainer and try to use as much Czech as possible, though we occasionally rely on English, Russian, or even Italian when needed.

I’ll encourage you to use pen and paper — or some document — to collect everything new. It may sound funny, but my favourite motto is “Fake it till you make it.” If you don’t know a word now, you’ll at least know exactly where to find it in your notes.

  • Since I was a child, I kept proving to everyone that I would NEVER become a teacher. But things change.

I still don’t really call myself a “teacher,” because that’s not what I am in the traditional sense. I don’t teach children who have to attend classes. I teach adults who learn out of their own free will, because they enjoy it, because they chose it, and because it matters to them.

I teach because I feel the need to share my knowledge with people who truly need it: people living their daily lives in a foreign country, surrounded by the unfamiliar, doing their best to adapt and communicate.

  • It’s a bit of a lottery! Sometimes I’m in Czechia, in my hometown near the Orlické Mountains, sometimes I’m in Brno, and sometimes I’m abroad (usually somewhere by the sea). So I’m no longer surprised when a student asks where I am at the moment — my location is pretty unpredictable.

But starting from 2026 you can find me in Madeira.

  • I began my teaching career with TLC Training and Languages in Brno. A year later, I also started working with Learnlight. In addition, I offer personalized lessons through my own practice, catering to the needs of each individual student.

I’ve chosen Google Meet as the platform for our lessons.

  • I’ve been teaching since 2022. I started with in-person lessons, but soon realized it wasn’t for me, so I moved fully online.

  • My timeslots are: 912, 1417 and 1820 CET
